“Best of the Best” Overall Showmanship
The livestock committee
of the North Central Arkansas District Fair Association will sponsor an
overall showmanship competition on Saturday. The participants are
limited to the senior winners of the beef, swine, sheep, and goat
showmanship competitions. Participants can choose one helper who has to
be a junior showmanship participant (age 9-13).
Participants will draw
for positions on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. and the competition will
start at 10:00 a.m. Each participant will show a lamb, a hog, a goat,
and a beef animal. The junior helper is responsible for getting the
animal ready for showing (washing, drying, and grooming). A North
Central Arkansas District Fair “Best of the Best” showmanship buckle
will be awarded to the senior winner. The junior winner will also
receive a buckle for their assistance.
**Since goats and lambs will show at a different time during the week,
the senior winner of goat and lamb showmanship is asked to let the Barn
Superintendent know how many goats and lambs the exhibitor can provide
for this competition if he/she chooses to participate. |
