Young bucks ONLY. Age 12 months and younger. Young bucks will show in the buck show only.

The Junior Market Goat show is restricted to junior exhibitors.

Exhibitors will be limited to two entries in each class and and may have a maximum of three in the market goat classes.

Goats must be owned by the exhibitors by July 15, 2010.

All registered goats must have a legible tattoo, as recorded on registration certificate. All goats must wear a Scrapie identification ear tag.

Animals must be owned and registered in the exhibitor’s name. No pending registrations will be accepted.

Does and wethers will show but does shown in the dairy goat show may not show in the market goat show.

The minimum weight is 50 pounds with no maximum weight.

Market goats must have baby teeth.

Any breed of goat or cross may show in the market show but a separate entry is required on the entry form or must be made online.

Goats may have horns but horns must be tipped for safety.

Each Vo-Ag Instructor or County Extension agent will be issued a weight sheet to record the declared weight of the animal. This must be filled out in ink. Animals must be weighed on official scales and weight recorded by the superintendent or someone designated by the superintendent.

All entries may be tested for drugs.

Each class will be placed 1st through 10th place and points will be awarded as follows: 1st place - 24 pts, 2nd place – 20 pts, 3rd place – 18 pts, 4th place – 17 pts, 5th place – 16 pts, 6th place – 15 pts, 7th place – 14 pts, 8th place – 13 pts, 9th place – 11 pts, and 10th place – 10 pts.
