North Central Arkansas District Fair Youth Talent Contest

A Youth Talent Contest will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at
7:00 p.m. in the Amphitheater. Winners in each category will be
eligible to compete in the Arkansas State Fair Youth Talent Contest in
October in Little Rock.
Rules
1. Official age limits are from ten to twenty, inclusive.
2. Contestants must be residents of a county in the NCADF area (Cleburne,
Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone or Van Buren).
3. Contestants must be single and never have been married or have
children.
4. No one contestant will be permitted to enter in more than one class
except with groups of five or more.
5. Instrumentalists should bring their own instruments. There will not be
a piano available. If an accompanist is required, contestants must make
their own arrangements. Contestants must furnish their own cassette
tapes/CD’s. Tapes/CD’s should have only the music for performance on the
tape/CD and should be taped on Side 1 or Side A. Any act that has more
than the music needed for that act’s performance will be automatically
disqualified. It is recommended that contestants using tapes/CD’s bring a
second tape/CD as a backup in case of an emergency. All tapes/CD’s should
be of good quality and cued in advance.
6. All talent competition numbers must not be more than 3 three minutes in
length. Contestants are free to choose what they wear while performing,
but dress should be in “good taste.”
7. Contest is open to all talented young people. Entrants do not need to
win their local county talent contest to be eligible.
8. There is an entry fee of $10.00 for each act.
9. Contestants may pre-register by sending an application and the entry
fee to the NCADF Talent Contest, P.O. Box 874, Clinton, AR 72031. Deadline
for entry is Friday, September 21, 2007. A $10.00 late penalty will be
assessed for any entries after the established date.
10. Categories are:
• Vocal Solo
• Vocal Group
• Dance Solo
• Dance Group
• Instrumental Solo
• Variety
11. First place winners in each category will be eligible to compete in
the Arkansas State Fair Youth Talent Contest in Little Rock in October.
One overall winner will be selected and will receive a cash award.
